Wilma F. Owen

Wilma Faye Owen, 96, of Corydon, died Friday, December 21, 2018, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation in Corydon.  She was born August 19, 1922, in Mauckport, Indiana, to the late Paul G. and Bessie M. Frakes Engleman.  She was a homemaker and a member of Community of Hope Church of the Nazarene in Corydon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stoy E. Owen, Sr.; her son, Gary Ray Owen, Sr.; her daughters, Donna Sue Owen and Deanna Faye Taylor; her brothers, Euguene “Gene” and Paul Junior Engleman; and her sisters, Anna Mae Gutknecht, Georgetta “Jettye” Pinaire and Bonnie E. Shireman.

Survivors include her sons, Orbison “Sonny” Owen of Cody, Wyoming, Ronnie Owen of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Paul “Bobby” Owen of Jeffersonville, Indiana, William “Billy” Owen of New Albany, Indiana, Max Owen of Seattle, Washington and Stoy Owen, Jr. of Corydon; her daughters, Sharon Melton of Franklin, Indiana, Connie Rhodes of Princeton, Kentucky, Nancy Liebert of Cody, Wyoming, Beneta Neal of Madison, Indiana and Deborah “Debbie” Carpenter of Salem, Indiana; her brother, Carl Engleman of Lexington, Kentucky; and 103 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2018, at Community of Hope Church of the Nazarene in Corydon.  Rev. Michael Elliott will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at her church. 

Pallbearers will be Stoy Jr., Sonny, Ronnie, Bobby, Billy, and Max Owen.
