William R. "Bill" Baumgart

William R. “Bill” Baumgart, 70, died Thursday, November 17, 2022, at his home near Corydon.  He was born November 16, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Edgar Baumgart and the late Elaine Leaf Baumgart. He was a retired welder, a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville and the Indiana National Guard, and was a talented musician. 

Survivors include his father; his wife, Karen S. Carpenter Baumgart; his sons, Russell Baumgart, Daniel Baumgart (Jo) and Jerry Hunley (Sarah); his daughters, Angie Sellers, Deirdre Martin, Rebecca Hunley and Rylanda Still (Keith); his brother, Bob Baumgart (Kitty); 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville.  Rev. Mark Carnahan will officiate.  Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Pallbearers will be Ben Hunt, Dennis Adkins, Jerrod Martin, Dakota Brooks, Grant Baumgart and Greg Baumgart.
