William A. “Bill” Engleman, 90, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at U of L Health Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville. He was born on March 3, 1934, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Albert M. and Vera Lee (Smith) Engleman.
He was a graduate of Corydon High School in 1951, served in the military during the Korean War, and retired from Pillsbury in 1996. He was a very talented sign painter, was a Freemason for 46 years, and also was a troop leader for the Boy Scouts for many years.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife of 60 years, Margaret Engleman; and his sister, Rebecca Sue Edwards.
He leaves behind five children, Stephen Engleman (Linda), Leisa Hamlett (Tony), Kenny Engleman (Dana), William Engleman, Jr. (Tina) and Michael Engleman.
He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother, James A. Engleman; and his sisters, Mary Ann Kost, Judy Mason (Harrold) and Cindy Stonecipher (Jeff).
He enjoyed five wonderful years of marriage to Betty Richardson Engleman and grew close to her children, David Richardson (Michelle) and Mandy Estes (Scott).
He and Betty were members of Cornerstone Community Church in Louisville, Kentucky.
There will be a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Pastor Tony Alstott will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Corydon.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
