Velva Jean Blank, 86, of Lanesville, Indiana, died Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, Indiana. She was born January 9, 1939, in Crawford County, Indiana, to the late Jacob and Mary Small Hoover. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville and was formerly employed as an attendant at the I-64 Welcome Center near Georgetown Indiana and at Cedar Farms near Laconia, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Wilfred Julius “Arkie” Blank; and her son, Dennis Jerome Blank.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville. Rev. Michael Terkula will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Shewmaker, Doug Blank, Brian Blank, Darrell Bradley Blank, Richard Stewart, Jason Windell, and Wade Sonner.
