Trumond Earl Massie, 86, of Corydon, Indiana, died Tuesday, March 11, 2025, just 3 days shy of his 87th birthday, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.  He was born March 14, 1938, in Grayson County, Texas, to the late Fred and Leola Allen Massie.  He was formerly employed at GNB Battery Plant in Salem, Oregon and at the Corydon Junior High School in Corydon, was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy for several years, and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Harold Ray Massie; his granddaughter, Alexandra Mittig; his brothers, Raymond, Darrell and Leroy Massie; and his sister, Savannah Massie.

 

Survivors include his wife, Jewell Kidd Massie; his sons, Earl Massie and Anthony Massie; his daughters, Barbara Rechy, Penny Goins (Greg), Savannah Green (Kenneth), Rose Kelley (David), Yvette Benham (Daniel), and Dawn Boling (Brad); his brother, Carl Massie (Linda); 17 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Greg Goins will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

 

Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Green, Kenneth Green, James Brown, Nicholas Boling, Zachary Boling and Daniel Benham.
