Thomas James Walther Obituary

Thomas James Walther, 63, of Corydon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in the comfort of his own home near Corydon.  He was born on May 21, 1960 in Washington County, Indiana.  For many years he was an R.V. mechanic and carpenter by trade.  Hunting game, arrowheads and mushrooms were just a few of his hobbies.  As many of you know, he had a LOVE for his guns and shooting in general.  He enjoyed cooking and spending time with so so many beloved friends and family members.  Tom also loved wolves, and kept gray wolves as pets.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville, and enjoyed spending time on his Harley and visiting with his friends at Hog’s Tavern.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Holly Stutzman Walther; his parents, James and Eunice Rau Walther; his biological mother, Carlie Hall-Bedford; his step son, Tyler Perry; his brother, Dan Walther; and his biological brothers, Don and Ralph Young.

 

Survivors include his sister, Rebecca Kessinger (Jimmy); his biological siblings, Debra Davidson, and Paul and Kenny Young; his four children and three step children, Tiffany Crone (Larry), Thomas James Walther, Jr., Cassandra Walther (Bryan), Travis Walther (Angela), Chrystal Jablonski (Rodger), William K. Lyvers, and Cody Lyvers (Madaleine); and his grandchildren, Dalton, Brayden, Sarah, Layla, Kayden, Shelby, Grace, Jacob, Haley, Hannah, Zachary, Tyler, and Carson.

 

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville.  Pastor Mark Carnahan will officiate.  Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.

 

Pallbearers will be Ralph Schulthies, Hoobie, Micky Dalhoff, Budman Jason Beck, Phil Whiteman, Todd Tucker, Randy Hussung and Paul Barr.  Honorary pallbearers will be Al Tucker and John Goff.
