Thomas A. Jones “Jonsey”, 87, of Corydon, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 19, 2020, surrounded by his loving family at 6:35 a.m., at his home in Corydon. He was born May 10, 1933, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Edward and Emma Antle Jones. He worked for Chester B. Stem Wood in New Albany, Indiana for 20 years and retired from Norstam Veneers in Mauckport (aka) Jones Lumber after 20 years, was a lifetime member of the V. F. W. Post 2950 in Corydon, was a member of the Corydon Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, and was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael; his daughter, Belinda; his brothers, Jerry and Bill; and his sister, Patricia.
Survivors include his wife, Judee; his son, Mark Jones; his daughter, Jill Dirbas (Tom) of Greenfield, Indiana; his son, Theodore Jones of Toledo, Ohio; his grandchildren, Levi Pearson of Greenfield and Laken Charlton (and her fiancé Cody Braken and his children, Sara and Emily) of New Albany; his great granddaughter, Melody Love Bracken of New Albany; his sisters, Joann and Linda of New Albany; and his brother David of New Albany.
There will be a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Chaplain TC Baker will officiate.
Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
