Tate Phillip Lieber, 34, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Lanesville, died Friday, January 15, 2021, in San Antonio. He was born March 6, 1986 in New Albany, Indiana. Tate graduated from Lanesville High School in 2004 and had received an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies, a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and a Masters degree in Securities Studies. He worked as a government contractor, was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville, and was a retired U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt. having served two tours overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Bill Lieber and Bill Hussung.
Survivors include his wife, Kayla L. Woods Lieber; his children, Sawyer, Lucy and Rosie Lieber; his parents, Tom and Tammy Lieber of Lanesville; his grandmothers, Shirley Lieber and Hilda Hussung both of Lanesville; and his sister, Tana Thompson (Levi) of Lanesville.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville. Pastor Mark Carnahan will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Pallbearers will be Jason Ketterer, Luke Powers, Anthony Lieber, Levi Thompson, Brad Hussung and Chris Gunther.
