Steve Lovell, 64, of Corydon, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at his home near Corydon. He was born February 15, 1957, in Peoria, Illinois, to Thomas and Evelyn (Reid) Lovell. Steve graduated from Mt. Zion Bible School in 1975 and Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1983. He raised his children in Elwood, Illinois, where he served on the school board and coached his children’s basketball and baseball teams. He retired from Caterpillar after 40 years, where he was a Senior System Analyst. Steve was a member of Shiloh Pilgrim Holiness Church near Corydon where he served as a church board member for 5 years, and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen (Fox) Lovell.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine (Miles) Lovell; his children, Crystal Gray (Philip), Steven Lovell, and Mark Lovell (Amanda); his grandchildren, Beto, Pablo, Jose, Elena, Carlos, Ana, Mateo, Samuel, Sofia, and David Gray, Chip, Eva and Drew Lovell, and Cammi and Pax Lovell; his parents, Thomas and Evelyn Lovell; his sister, Linda Hopkins (Gary); and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. EDT Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Mark Arnett will officiate.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. CDT Friday, May 28, 2021, at Smithville Cemetery near Hanna City, Illinois.
