Sonya Joy Stonecipher, 79, of Corydon, Indiana, died Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Harrison Healthcare Center in Corydon. She was born August 3, 1945, near Corydon, to the late Elza Charles and Georgia Marie Kelly Stonecipher. She was formerly employed at the Fair Store in Corydon and as a secretary with Inland Marine in Missouri, and was a member of the Corydon Church of the Bible Covenant.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dale Stonecipher.
Survivors include her brothers, Wayne Stonecipher (Karen) and Lester Stonecipher (Patricia) both of Georgetown, Indiana, Orlan Stonecipher (Sharon) of Corydon, Joseph Stonecipher (Barbara) of Alton, Indiana and Stephen Stonecipher of Corydon; her sister, Anita Rodgers (Don) of Tallahassee, Florida; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Mark Arnett will officiate. Burial will be in Jordan Cemetery near Corydon.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Orlan, Joseph, Ernest, Brian and Philip Stonecipher and Patrick Schneider.
