Shirley Jean Fessel

Shirley Jean Fessel, 66, of Corydon, died Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Norton Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.  She was born August 8, 1957, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Lorenzo and Wilma Toops Byerley.  She was formerly employed as an import specialist with HPI Home Products in Seymour, Indiana. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Randy Byerley; and her sister, Martha Owen.

Survivors include her sons, Jeff Smith (Angie) of Jasper, Indiana, Lanny Scott Fessel of New Albany, and Kyle Fessel (Heather) of Crothersville, Indiana; her grandchildren, Dane, Shea and Bryn Smith, Kaleb Fessel, and Braelynn Thornton; her sisters, Vivian Fessel (Russ) of Corydon, Ramona Clark (Art) of Corydon, Kate Burton of Corydon, and Lisa Stephens (Boyce) of Salisbury, North Carolina; her brother in law, Bill Owen of New Albany; and her sister in law, Lori Byerley of Salisbury.

There will be a memorial visitation from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
