Sharon Ann Melton

Sharon Ann Melton, 82, of Franklin, Indiana, died Monday, November 10, 2025, at Franklin Meadows in Franklin.  She was born November 17, 1942, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Stoy Everett and Wilma Faye Engleman Owen.  She worked at Tyson Foods and was of the Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Rick Shireman; her brother, Gary Owen; and her sisters, Deanna Taylor and Donna Sue Owen.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, George Ray Melton; her sons, Bill, Bobby and Troy Burns; her daughters, Margaret Ann Davis and Linda Shireman; her stepson, George Melton; her stepdaughter, Melissa Melton; her brothers, Orbison, Bob, Ronnie, Bill, Max and Stoy (Jr). Owen; her sisters, Nancy Liebert, Benita Neal, Connie Rhodes and Debbie Carpenter; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana.  Chyrell Whitmire will officiate.  Burial will be in Pennington Chapel Cemetery near Corydon.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be James Davis, Nathan Burns, Thomas Owen, Kimberly Davis, John Allen and Amanda Dupuis.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Pennington Chapel Cemetery Fund.
