Scott Bartley, 75, of Corydon, Indiana, peacefully passed away at his home on Thursday, June 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born July 3, 1949, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late John Walter Bartley and Viola Catherine Smith Bartley.  Scott proudly owned and operated his barber shop, Silver Shears, in New Albany for 53 years.  On July 20, 1968, he married Vicky Faith Bartley, and they raised their family in Elizabeth, Indiana.  He was a member of Grace Tabernacle Assembly of God Church near Laconia, and was a former member of the Elizabeth Volunteer Fire Department, the Union Chapel Cemetery Board, and the South Harrison Water Corporation Board.  Scott enjoyed his work as a barber and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He also had a love for God, and used that love to lead and guide others in his life to Jesus. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Cindy Bartley.

 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vicky Bartley; his daughters, Shelly Vogt (Jeff) and Allison Schifcar (Steve); his brother, Mike Bartley (Norvetta); his sister, Sandy Ferree; his grandchildren, Brook Baelz (Billy), Ryan Wemes, Tyler Schifcar (Amanda), Nick Wemes, Averey Mason (Zach) and Lexi Vogt; and his great grandchildren, Daylee Schifcar, Colt Schifcar, Hadlee Baelz, Krew Mason and Foster Mason.

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Gary Decker and Pastor Luke Jecker will officiate.  Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery near Laconia.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Tyler Schifcar, Ryan Wemes, Nick Wemes, Zach Mason, Chris Mathes and Billy Baelz.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Vogt and Steve Schifcar.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Union Chapel Cemetery.
