Sarah “Catherine” Gleitz, 92, of Corydon, died Friday, February 23, 2024, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. She was born July 25, 1931, in Laconia, Indiana, to the late Charles H. and Bessie Blanche Noon Carver. She was employed, with her husband, Grover, as a farm caretaker at Martin Farms in Salem, Indiana, and was a member of Community of Hope Church of the Nazarene in Corydon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Grover Julius Gleitz, Sr.; her infant son, Richard Lamar Gleitz; her brother, James Carver; and her sisters, Beatrice Melton, Betty Carter, Sally Ann Carver, and Dorris Wooten.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Trudy Richardson, Cathern Hisey, Bonnie Jean Hayes, Rachel Millie Schwartz, Stephen Gleitz, Lois Griffin, Bill Stiner, and Mary Neal.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Michael P. Elliott will officiate. Burial will be in Hyland Cemetery near Mauckport, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
