Sandra S. Harter

Sandra S. Harter, 78, died Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, Florida.  She was born June 6, 1947, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Clarence Edward Garvin and Maudie Edna Meadors Garvin.  She worked in sales for many years with AFLAC and various other companies, loved to read and shop, and was very artistic with her drawing, crafts and rubber stamping.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David W. Harter; her son, AJ Harter; and her brother, Jay Garvin.

Survivors include her son, Brian Harter (Heather); her daughters, Melissa Shaffer (Andy) and Gail Wallace (Bryan); her brother, Kevin Garvin; her grandchildren, April, CD, Sarah, Meagan and Liam; and her great grandchildren, Harper and Jacob.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Chuck Brown will officiate.  Burial will be in New Amsterdam Cemetery in New Amsterdam, Indiana.

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the New Amsterdam Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
