Ruth L. Gerdon

Ruth L. Gerdon, 87, of Corydon, died Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at BeeHive Homes in Georgetown, Indiana.  She was born April 10, 1933, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Jesse L. and Beulah Watson Wiseman.  Ruth attended grades 1 through 4 at the old Guest Country School #11 near Corydon, graduated from New Middletown School, and later attended Indiana University Southeast.  She was formerly employed in the office at Harrison County Hospital, the Harrison County YMCA, and the Conrad Renneker Five and Dime Store, was a member of Heidelberg United Methodist Church, was a member and Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Old Capitol Chapter #467, was a Guardian of Job’s Daughters, and was an officer of the Corydon Grade School PTA all in Corydon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William “Gene” Gerdon; her granddaughter, Amanda Jo Fisher; her brother, Gilbert Wiseman; and her special friend, Mary Summers.

Survivors include her son, David L. Gerdon of Corydon; her daughter, Janet Fisher (Max) of Corydon; her brother, Jerrell Wiseman (Nancy) of Corydon; her sister, Patricia Kintner (John D.) of Corydon; her grandchildren, Jessica Michell, Katherine Beasley (Justin), Max Fisher (Hilary), and Emma Everson (Phillip); and her great grandchildren, Evan, Holland, Evelyn, Ayden, and Ava.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Rick Utz will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
