Ronald W. “Ronnie” Melton, 55, of Corydon, died Thursday, September 23, 2021, at his home near Corydon. He was born October 15, 1965, in Corydon, to the late Granville and Irene Greer Melton. He was formerly employed at Keller Manufacturing Company in Corydon, was a former dispatch officer with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, was a former reserve officer with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, was a former security guard with Caesar’s Indiana casino and French Lick casino, was formerly employed at Culligan Water in Corydon, and was a member of the old Corydon Fire Department. Ronnie enjoyed tinkering with CB and HAMM radios, was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, and loved the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Mark Melton.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Melton (Eric Ritz) of Corydon; his brother, Floyd Shewmaker (Diane) of Corydon; and his sisters, Kathy Schoen of Crandall, Terrie Henderson of Corydon, and Tonie Henderson (Robert) of Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Rick Utz will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
