Ronald P. Phillips

Ronald Paul Phillips, age 82, died peacefully in his home on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

He was born on October 25, 1942, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Jack Paul Phillips and Peggy Marie Phillips.  His parents have preceded him in death along with his sisters, Deborah Reeves and Peggy Whitehurst.

Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wanda Ellis Phillips; two sons, Jason M. Phillips and Jeff C. Phillips; three grandsons, Darrian Z. Phillips, Jakob A. Phillips and Brett N. Phillips; and one great granddaughter, Heidi Lane Phillips.

Ron’s business career was in sales, and he initially worked for Allied Arkansas Bearing Company in Little Rock, Arkansas and was their marketing head.  He traveled all over the United States and also spent many weeks overseas.  He and his family lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for a couple of years.  They moved from Arkansas to Corydon, Indiana in 1976 and he worked for several different companies in industrial sales and also ran his own business, Phillips & Associates, for several years.  His greatest joy, other than his family, was using his gifts of music, speaking and leadership in church ministry.  His dad was a Nazarene minister and he grew up in multiple churches.  He and Wanda became Christians in 1972 and Ron has served on boards, been worship leaders, sung in choirs and quartets, taught Sunday School classes, and volunteered as needed in many other areas.  He and Wanda are currently members of Beech Grove Independent Nazarene Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Funeral services for Ron will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Don Bates, Jr. will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday and after 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Ron had a great love for children and Christian schools.  In lieu of flowers, Wanda is recommending donations to Beech Grove Independent Church School, 5152 Hornet Ave., Beech Grove, Indiana 46107 or through Zelle at bginc.treasurer@outlook.com.
