Roger E. Carver Obituary

Roger E. Carver, 75, of New Salisbury, Indiana, died Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.  He was born May 25, 1950, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Robert E. Carver and Pauline Langdon Carver. 

 

Roger graduated from South Central in 1968 and attended Nashville Auto Diesel College. He spent most of his life as a truck driver, driving for Bekin Van Lines, Allied Van Lines, Nussbaum-Boyle and Lucas Oil,  and spent 21 years of his life team driving with his wife, Linda, hauling mostly for the Department of Defense and Jasper Engines.  The last 3 years were spent in the dump truck business with Linda and his son, Rob.  He was also a former Louisville City police officer, was a member of The American Legion Memorial Post 196 and The American Legion Riders in Bloomfield, Indiana, the Old Capital Saddle Club in Corydon, Indiana and the Southern Indiana Draft Horse and Mule Association and served as an E-7 in the U.S. Army.  He was an avid bowler, loved horse riding and horse and mule drawn wagons, having trotters and pacers at the Corydon Fairgrounds and racing at Louisville Downs.  Roger loved going out to eat, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his American Legion Rider family, but mostly, he loved and lived for his family.   

 

Survivors include his wife, Linda S. Kinser Carver; his sons, Roger L. Carver and Robert O. Carver; his daughter, Brandy D’Angelo (Greg); his sister, Debra K. Satterfield; and his grandchildren, Emily (Cooper), Deacon, Arizona, Reese and George.

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Michael Wood will officiate.  Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery near Mauckport, Indiana.

 

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Roger Carver, Robert Carver, Greg D’Angelo, Deacon Armstrong, Tom Luther and Bill Nicholson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Reese Carver and George Carver.
