Roberta Jean “Burty” Eckart, 76, of Elizabeth, Indiana, died Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, Indiana.  She was born September 14, 1948 in New Albany, Indiana.  She was retired from Caesar’s Indiana, was formerly employed at Hobarts in Louisville, Kentucky and loved going to the Derby Dinner Playhouse and playing Bingo.

 

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Robert C. and Hazel Pauline DeVore Keith; her brother, John “Sonny” Keith; her sisters, Wanda Johnson and Doris Keith, and was succeeded in death by her son, John William Eckart, the morning after her death on July 21, 2025.

 

Survivors include her husband, Patrick William “Pat” Eckart; her son, Eric DeWayne Eckart (Kim) of Laconia, Indiana; her brother, Joe Keith (Pam) of Salem, Indiana; her granddaughter, Kelsey Thompson; and her great grandsons, Tommy, Emmett and Olson Thompson.

 

Funeral services will be with her son, John W., at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
