Robert T. “Bob” Mercer, 40, of Elizabeth, died Friday, January 29, 2021, near Elizabeth. He was born September 19, 1980 in Corydon. He was an employee of Trilogy Health Services. He was an avid basketball fan, and loved fishing, boating, drag racing and family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Riley; and his grandmother, Barbara Mercer.
Survivors include his wife, Heather Matlock Mercer; his daughters, Lilah Marie and Emersyn LuAnn; his parents, Sam and LuAnn Riley Mercer of Elizabeth; his grandmother, Velma Riley of Elizabeth; his grandfather, Tom Mercer of Chesterfield, Virginia; his brothers, Brian Mercer (Kendra) of Sellersburg, Indiana, and Bradley Mercer (Brittany) of Elizabeth; his nieces, Brinley and Briley Mercer; and his nephews, Lincoln and Griffin Mercer.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. David O Connor will officiate. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery near Laconia.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up at First Savings Bank for Heather and her children.
Pallbearers will be Brian and Bradley Mercer, George Ott, Jacob and Joshua Babcock, Adam Hyde, and Matthew and Josh Riley. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaitlyn, Grace, Madeline and Nolan Riley.
