Robert L. "Bob" Brooks Obituary

Robert L. “Bob” Brooks, 72, of English, Indiana, died Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at his home near English.  He was born October 21, 1951, in Alton, Indiana, to the late Joseph Raymond Brooks and Hazel Bohannon Stevens.  He was retired from the Mulzer Crushed Stone Cape Sandy Quarry, was a lifetime member and past commander of the Alton American Legion Post #133, and was a U.S. Army veteran.  Bob loved hunting, fishing and woodworking.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Janice Sheckells and Margo Goffinet.

 

Survivors include his wife, Brenda House Brooks; his son, Jason Brooks (Jennifer); his daughter, Bobbi-Jo Kellum (Jamie); his grandchildren, Ashley Kellum, Jordan Kellum, Jagger Kellum, Tylor Brooks, Austin Brooks, Sydney Brooks, Gaby Mills, and Gracie Milles; his great grandchildren, Karsyn Kellum, McKinlee Kellum, Addison Kellum, Mason Brooks, and Arabella Brooks; his brothers, Bill Daugherty (Sandra), Joe Brooks (Connie), and Glen Morris; his sisters, Mary Dawson, Linda Simpson, Judy Presley (Gurney), Loretta Williams, and Debbie Noble; and his special cousin who cared for him, Rita Brandenburg.

 

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Marvin Culver will officiate.  Burial will be in Riddle Cemetery at Riddle, Indiana.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Jagger Kellum, Tylor Brooks, Austin Brooks, Dennis Brooks, Chris Richardson, and Nathan McKinney.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Riddle Cemetery or Amedisys Hospice.
