Robert L. Valentine, Jr., 71, of Corydon, died Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.  He was born September 14, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late R. Lee Valentine, Sr. and Bernice Robinson Valentine.  He was an entrepreneur and the former owner and operator of a medical transport service which later led him to assist families as a caregiver, and was a member of St. Paul AME Church in Corydon.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Curtis; his sisters, Pearl and Erma Jean; and his aunt, Doris.

 

Survivors include his children, Robert L. Valentine III (April) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jason L. Valentine of Indianapolis, Todd A. Valentine (Telease) of Virginia, Brittney N. Valentine of Louisville, Kristin M. Valentine of Los Angeles, California, and Steven A. Thompson of Indianapolis; his brothers, Harold Valentine, Gary Valentine (Amy), and Tony Valentine (Deanna); and his grandchildren, Taylur, Mailiyah, Jason Jr., Todd Jr., Jurnee, Kevin, Adrianna, Adris, Adarius, and Carter.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024, at St. Paul AME Church in Corydon.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

 

Visitation will be after 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.

 

Pallbearers will be Robert Valentine III, Jason Valentine, Todd Valentine, Steven Thompson, Kevin Valentine, Carter Thompson, and David Valentine.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to St. Paul AME Church.
