Robert Joseph Acton 74, of Elizabeth Indiana, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 28, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 23, 1950, in Corydon,Indiana, to the late Joseph and Cecelia Gleitz Acton. Robert was a graduate of Lanesville High School in 1968, before entering into the Kentucky National Guard. After his service, became an electrical contractor for the IBEW 1393 and worked for the Gallagher / Duke Energy Power Station in New Albany Indiana before retiring of 39 years in 2009. He was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lanesville, Indiana, along with being a member of the Lanesville Heritage Weekend Committee. Robert also was a veteran of the123rd Tactical Recon of the Kentucky Air National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his late wife of almost 40 years, Jackie Wohlleb Acton; and his brother-in-law, John Foreman.

Robert had a commitment to being close with his wife, children, grandchildren, along with family and friends. Many of the times you would see him attending all the activities he could for his children and grandchildren. His greatest passion was farming the lands in Lanesville, and his happiest moments could be found with him being on his John Deere tractor. Another passion Robert had was travelling across the United States.

Survivors include his children, Jessica Schneider (Jason) of Lanesville; Tiffaney Powers (Jason) of Corydon, Jonathan Acton of Lanesville, and Sarah Newton (Zachary) of Louisville; his grandchildren, Lakyn Elliott (Terry), Ellie Schneider, Macy Parr (Jackson), and Lucy Schneider; his great-granddaughters, Atlee Elliott and Holland Elliott; and his siblings Jim Acton (Joyce) of Lanesville, Susie Foreman of Corydon, and Kenny Acton (Lori) of Lanesville.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville.  Reverand Henry Loppnow will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery near Lanesville Indiana.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Acton, Jon Acton, Nic Acton, Eric Acton, Steve Pendleton, John Morgan, Terry Elliott and Jackson Parr.
