Robert E. "Bob" Welman

Robert E. “Bob” Welman, 81, of Corydon, died Monday, July 22, 2019, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.  He was born December 19, 1937, in Corydon, to the late Clifford J. and Helen R. Sillings Welman.  He worked as an auto body mechanic at Purkhiser’s Auto and J.D. Whitman’s Auto both in Corydon, was formerly employed at Alstott’s Ace Hardware in Corydon, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Viola Christine Hayden Welman; his brother, Paul Wayne Welman; his sister, Dorothy Louise Feller; and his granddaughter, Kesha Wright.

Survivors include his son, Tim Welman (Evy) of Corydon; his daughters, Judy Engleman and Tina Wright (Ronnie) both of Corydon; his brothers, Carl Edgar Welman (Shirley) of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and James Arnold Welman (Carol) of Corydon; his grandchildren, Amber, Kenneth and Natasha; and his great grandchildren, Brea, Mason, Kenzie, Gavin, and Lily.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Tom McGilliard will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Corydon.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tim, Carl, and Jim Welman, Ronnie Wright, Clint Murdock, and Kenneth Engleman.
