Richard W. Zerbe, 67, of Corydon, died Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. He was born October 31, 1952 in Flint, Michigan. He was an aircraft mechanic with UPS and other companies, was a DC-3 pilot, was a member of the Corydon Moose Lodge and the V.F.W. Post 2950 Auxiliary in Corydon, and he loved working in his garage on his truck and his blue car.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Willa Dee Burnett Wilmuth; and his sister, Joy Brewer.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Kiefer Zerbe; his father, E. Richard “Dick” Zerbe; his sons, Dillon Zerbe, Christopher Joseph (Stephanie), and William Benkowski; his daughters, Kara Zerbe, Jennifer Purks, and Tammy Legge Mabe; his brothers, Mike, Paul and John Henry; his sister, Mona Percy; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Webster Oglesby will officiate. Burial will be in Lanesville Protestant Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Joseph, Kara Zerbe, Dillon Zerbe and William Benkowski.
