Orlin W. Luther, 83, of Corydon, died Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.  He was born December 31, 1939, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Willard A. and Mary M. Langenburg Luther.  He was retired from LG&E in Louisville and from the Corydon Recycling Center, and was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church near Corydon and Pisgah Masonic Lodge #32 F&AM in Corydon.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of over 60 years, Mary Janet Meyer Luther.

 

Survivors include his son, Jeffrey Luther (Pat) of Corydon; his daughters, Janeen Engleman (Kenny) of Corydon and Susan Luther Gay (Greg) of Tallahassee, Florida; his grandchildren, Josh Luther, Micah Luther, Coty Luther and Jessica Mathes; his great grandchildren, Brinlee, Dale, Soren, Kayleigh, Sadie, Monroe, Aiden and Tyler; and his sisters, Wanda Scott (Bob) of Mississippi, Shirley Young (Follis) of New Salisbury, Indiana and Brenda Wise of Elizabeth, Indiana.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church near Corydon.  Rev. Dr. Evangeline Anderson-Rajkumar will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, and after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

 

Pallbearers will be Josh Luther, Coty Luther, Chad Conrad, Duray Conrad, Jeremy Elrod and Todd Hermann.
