Mary Jo Stevens, 93, of Corydon, Indiana, died Monday, October 6, 2025, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon. She was born August 10, 1932, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late William Rusk Leffler and Josephine Wurm Leffler. She was a retired bookkeeper at the Harrison County Welfare Department after 50 years, and was a member of Unity Chapel United Methodist Church near Ramsey, Indiana where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years and recently attended Mt. Zion United Methodist Church near Lanesville, Indiana. Mary Jo also always looked forward her times with the Tuesday night Euchre Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 70 years, Stanley Paul Stevens; her brothers, William Dale Leffler, Noble Lee “Jim” Leffler and Ronnie C. Leffler; and her sister, Barbara E. Roggenkamp.
Survivors include her brothers, Donald R. Leffler (Carol) and Stephen A. Leffler (Nancy); her sister-in-law, Sandy Leffler; her nieces and nephews, Rusk Roggenkamp (Shirley), Ginnie Elmore (James), Roy Dale Leffler (Dana), Stefanie Bliss (Jimmy), Jeremy Leffler (Ronda) and Allison Walker (Michael); her great niece and nephews, Jack, Molly, Luke, Will, Jacob, Caleb, Landon and Brayden; her great great niece and nephew, Bruce and Emmie; and her beloved cousins, Cliff and Sandy Gutknecht.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Pastors Jeff Reed and Tim Gutknecht will officiate. Burial will be in Loudon’s Chapel Cemetery near Depauw, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Jeremy, Jack, Luke, Will, Jacob, Caleb, Landon and Brayden. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Rusk and Roy Dale.
