Marla Kay Byrd, 66, of Corydon, died Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at her home near Corydon.  She was born November 7, 1957, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Howard and Rosemary Ballard Saylor.  She was a retired Nurse Practitioner, having received her BSN in 1991 and her MSN in 2002, and was raised in the catholic faith.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Steven Byrd; her brother, Richard Saylor; and her brother in law, Larry Simcoe.

 

Survivors include her daughters, Amy Jones (Ryan) and Angela Denbo (Jason); her son, Anthony Byrd (Rose); her step sons, Christopher Byrd (Tessa) and Matthew Byrd (Christina); her sisters, Susan Wheeler (Mark), Cathy Simcoe, and Angela Dirck (Tony); her brother, Howard Saylor (Peggy); her sister in law, Sally Saylor; 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Andy Hansen will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

 

Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Anthony Byrd, Levi Roser, Noah Denbo, Wyatt Roser, Jason Denbo, and Tony Dirck.
