Lori J. Spurlock

Lori J. Spurlock, 62, of Corydon, died Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at her home near Corydon.  She was born January 8, 1957, in Corydon, to the late Kenneth and Helen L. Messmer Gerdon.  She was formerly employed as a case worker for the State of Indiana in New Albany, worked as a server at Donahue’s Café and Gregory’s Basement both in Corydon, and was a member of First Capital Christian Church in Corydon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandson, Joshua Avery Hibbs.

Survivors include her husband, John W. Spurlock; her sons, Jeremy Hibbs (Brittany) and Andrew Hibbs both of Corydon, and Matt Spurlock (Kayla) of Gainesville, Georgia; her daughter, Jessi Paris (Scott) of Marengo; her brother, Tim Gerdon (Sharon) of Corydon; her sisters, Kim Crawhorn (Tony), Karen Kinser (Terry), and Carol Martin all of Corydon; her grandchildren, Rylee, Hayden, Harper, Abigail, Drew, Ethan, Treyton, Taylor, Tanner, Bristol and Violet; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2019, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Randy Kirk will officiate.  Burial will be in Perseverance Chapel Cemetery near Corydon.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to First Capital Christian Church or Perseverance Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy and Andrew Hibbs, Matt Spurlock, Rex Messmer, Tim Gerdon, and Taylor and Tanner Sanders.  Honorary pallbearers will be Drew, Ethan, Rylee, Hayden and Treyton Hibbs.
