Lonnia Mae Shewmaker, 72, of Corydon, died Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at her home near Corydon. She was born March 28, 1950, in Corydon, to the late James Melton Cavins, Sr. and Anna Rosella Nalley Cavins. She was a retired Registered Nurse and former manager of H&R Block in Corydon, and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roscoe Edward Shewmaker, Jr.; her brother, Joe Cavins; and her sister, Georganna McCarty.
Survivors include her son, Roger E. Shewmaker (April); her brother, James Cavins, Jr. (Suellen); her sisters, Linda Bentley (Russell) and Sheila Taylor; and her grandchildren, Dakota Lynn, Ryan Eric, Reese Erin, and Olivia Rose.
Her funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon. Father Kyle Rodden will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Corydon.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
