Larry W. Shickles

Larry W. Shickles, 77, of Corydon, died Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.  He was born March 13, 1946, in Mauckport, Indiana, to the late Guard Oliver and Ada Mae Earnspiker Shickles.  He worked for many years as an HVAC and electric specialist including retiring from McDonald’s at several southern Indiana locations and was a member of the Fredericksburg Masonic Lodge and Salem York Rite. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Raymond Knowles, Harold Knowles, William Knowles and Jackie Shickles; and his sisters, Thelma Abbate, Jean Driscoll and Louise Russell.

Survivors include his son, Larry Dale Shickles (Remy) of Palmyra, Indiana; his daughters, Allison Stratton (Brian) of Louisville, Kentucky and Cynthia Ruddock (Robert) of Sellersburg, Indiana; his brother, Darrell Shickles of Georgetown, Indiana; his sisters, Norma Gusler of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Judy Johns of Illinois and Pam Knear (Wayne) of Corydon; his grandchildren, Whitney Miller, Daniel Terry (Shantel), Kaitlyn Ruddock and Blake Ruddock; and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Central, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 11:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

There will be masonic rites at 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brian Stratton, Robert Ruddock, Daniel Terry, Steve Howerton, Donnie Howerton and Wally Thompson.
