Larry Gail Rhoads, 75, of Corydon, died Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at his home in Corydon. He was born March 13, 1946, in Corydon, to the late Clarence D. Rhoads, Sr. and Tina Heishman Rhoads. He was retired from Smith Transfer Company in Louisville, Kentucky and Sharp Oil Company in Corydon, and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #89 in Louisville and Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church near Corydon. Larry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was happiest spending time with his family. He also loved woodworking in his shop, especially making canes and walking sticks, and in earlier years he loved to fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Max Rhoads, Walter “Corky” Rhoads and Clarence Rhodes, Jr.; and his sister, Mary Wolfe.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon L. Rhoads; his son, Larry “Dustin” Rhoads of Greenville, Indiana; his daughters, Jerri Stepro (Ronnie) of Corydon, Teresa Whitehouse (Clark) of Corydon, and Tina Rhoads of Corydon; his sister, Norma Wiseman of Corydon; his grandchildren, Chris Stepro (Tara), Erin Walker (Scott), Ethan Whitehouse (Melanie), Sydney Allgeier, Madison Allgeier, Zachary Rhoads (Amber), and Taylor Rhoads; and his great grandchildren, Kaeleigh, Emily, Eli, Kaydin, and Jordan.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Steve Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Corydon.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the American Kidney Fund.
Pallbearers will be Chris Stepro, Zach Rhoads, Ethan Whitehouse, Scott Walker, Tom Kirkham, Mike Kirkham, Denny Kirkham and John Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Kitterman, Dave Hammontree and Denny Huber.
