Lana Jean Smith, 71, of Corydon, Indiana, died Saturday, September 6, 2025, at her home near Corydon.  She was born December 16, 1953, in Tempe, Arizona, to the late Lawrence and Leona Bailey Rhodes.  Lana was a caring and devoted educator and counselor and belonged to the Church of the Brethren. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Leon Rhodes.

 

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Stephen Delbert Smith; her daughter, Michelle Lynn Smith Ritter (Don); her son, Aaron David Smith (Hilary); her grandchildren, Caleb Ritter, Kaia Ritter, Joshua Ritter and Noel Smith; her sister, Lora Hylton; her brother, Larry Rhodes (Joy); and her sister in law, Jan Rhodes.

 

Services for Lana will be held both in Corydon and in Fishers, Indiana.

 

On Saturday, September 13, 2025,

Visitation and viewing will begin at noon at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral services will follow, beginning at 2:00 pm.

 

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Olio Campus of Trinity Church, 11721 Olio Road, Fishers, Indiana 46037

Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:30, with a Celebration of Life to be held at 2:30.  A light meal will follow.
