Kermit K. Kellams Obituary

Kermit K. Kellams, 76, of Laconia, Indiana, died Monday, August 11, 2025, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, Indiana.  He was born April 6, 1949, in Greenville, Indiana, to late Delbert Thomas Kellams and Carolyn Bauman Morton Kellams.  He was retired from Philip Morris Tobacco Company in Louisville, Kentucky after 22 years, was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, attended the Laconia United Methodist Church, was a proud member of the V.F.W. Post 2950 in Corydon, Indiana, the American Legion in Indianapolis, Indiana and the NRA.

 

Kermit loved hunting, fishing, the outdoors, spending time with his family, going to the V.F.W. with his brothers, pulling the kids around the yard in a wagon behind his lawn mower, caring for others in need, was a jack of all trades, and never met a stranger.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Glennis and Perry “Buster”; and his sisters, Judy, Dixie and Sherry.

 

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Frances Boros Kellams; his daughter, Kimberly Kay Eckart (Eric); his granddaughter, Kelsey Thompson; his great grandsons, Tommy, Emmett and Olson; his brothers, Morton “Bud” Kellams (Darlene), Steve Kellams (Kathy), Danny Kellams and Tommy Kellams (Janet); his sisters, Betty Gunter and Carol Kellams; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Gary Decker will officiate.  Entombment will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Eric Eckart, Larry Lee, Troy Roach, David Decker, Tommy Kellams and TJ Kellams.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Thompson, Emmett Thompson and Olson Thompson.
