Kenneth L. Weis

Kenneth L. Weis, 91, of New Middletown, passed away on Saturday September 11, 2021.  He was born July 29, 1930, near New Middletown, Indiana, to the late George and Corinne Kraft Weis. He was a passionate farmer all of his life, veteran of the Korean War, member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, charter member of the New Middletown Volunteer Fire Department where he served for 35 years, and charter member of the Harrison County Cattleman’s Association. Kenneth sold Pioneer Seed for 20 years, served on the Harrison County Parks Department, Soil and Water Conservation District, South Harrison School Board, the Farm Credit Bureau, and drove a school bus for 28 years for the South Harrison School Corporation.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Margery Wagner, Verna Gunther and Georgia Blank.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Polly Blackman Weis; sisters, Audrey Albin of Louisville, KY and Matilda Monroe of Corydon, IN; daughters, Lorraine (Bryan) Mussatti of Fort Wayne, IN, Rhonda (Arden) Smith of Lowell, IN, and Jennifer (Tim) Lattire of Elizabeth, IN; son, Wendell Scott (Julie) Weis of Elizabeth, IN; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Daniel and Missi McPhillips and Steve Shaffer.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Following cremation, a private burial will be in St Peter’s Cemetery at a later date.

The family requests expressions of sympathy to be made to St Peter’s Lutheran Church or Amedisys Hospice of Jeffersonville, IN.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 655 St Peter’s Church Rd SE near Corydon, IN on September 18 from 1-4 p.m. This event will be outdoors and attendees are requested to follow CDC COVID guidelines.
