Kenneth “Kenny” DeWeese, Sr., 88, of Corydon, peacefully departed on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Indian Creek Healthcare Center in Corydon. He was born Feburary 21, 1935, in Jellico, Tennessee, to the late Duell and Lucille Cowels DeWeese. He served with pride in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in Egypt, Africa, and Puerto Rico. Following his military service, he earned a Business Degree from Watterson College. Kenny delighted in sharing stories, notably recounting his privilege of painting Muhammad Ali's parents' residence. In 1965, he embarked on a career journey at Ford Motor Company as a Forklift Operator, exhibiting unwavering dedication until his retirement after three decades of committed service. Kenny cherished his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, the Indiana Hoosiers, John Deere, indulging in sweets, and his cherished German Shepherd, Bailey. Kenny was a member of Corydon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Juanita Craine DeWeese; his sons, Kenny DeWeese, Jr. (Sheila) of Elizabeth, Indiana and Troy DeWeese, Sr. of Louisiana; his step son, Danny Huff (DeeDee) of Corydon; his step daughter, Kimberly Tuell (Vincent) of Corydon; his grandchildren, Courtney DeWeese (Branden), Jessica DeWeese (Matt), Joshua DeWeese (Jamie), Troy DeWeese, Jr., Jordan DeWeese, Bobby Huff, Dena Huff (Matt), Thera Desmond (Cory), and Alison Tuell; and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Chaplain George Payocong and Dr. Michael Bonacum will officiate. Entombment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Joshua DeWeese, Troy DeWeese, Jr., Jordan DeWeeese, Matt Medley, Cooper Desmond, and Branden Waggoner. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny DeWeese, Jr., Troy DeWeese, Sr., Danny Huff, Bobby Huff, Courtney DeWeese, Jessica DeWeese, Alison Tuell, Thera Desmond, Dena Huff, and Cory Desmond.
