Keith Louis Reising

Keith Louis Reising, 92, of Corydon, Indiana passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at his home in Corydon, surrounded by his family and loved ones.  He was born December 14, 1927 in Louisville, Kentucky to Fred L. Reising and Gladys Leona Hall.  Keith moved to Corydon in elementary school and spent a long and happy life there.  After graduating from Corydon Central High School, Keith served in the Navy during WWII.  Following his release from active duty he returned to Corydon and began a long and distinguished career in Louisville area radio.  Keith worked for several small radio stations at the beginning of his career, including WLRP where he met his wife of 65 years, Janet Lucille Miller, while broadcasting his morning radio show from a New Albany coffee shop.  The two were married in 1951 and had three sons together.  For the next 40 years Keith committed his career to building and running Louisville and Southern Indiana radio stations.

Keith was a dear friend to many in the Corydon area.  You might have found him with a dozen other men drinking coffee at Jocko’s or later McDonalds, or socializing with his wife Janet in the pews of the Old Capitol United Methodist Church.  He was a past Louisville area United Way chairman and also served on several community boards in the area, from Old Capitol Bank to his church and other philanthropic organizations.  Keith had a smile and a story to share with anyone he met. Despite his love for his hometown, Keith was an avid traveler and visited every state in the country with his wife Janet, including two road trips to Alaska.  While he valued adventuring and socializing with others, he was most happy at home on Coldsprings farm, tinkering with his classic Mustangs or tending to the garden.

Keith is survived by his three sons Keith Jr. (Joy) of Columbus, Indiana, Marty (Robyn) of San Diego, California, and Steve (Ellen) of New Albany, Indiana; his sister in-law Sue Hines and niece and nephew, Lou Ann Thompson and Jimmy Corrao; as well as 4 grandchildren, Keith III “Tre”, Alicia, Chelsea and Mary; and 2 great grandchildren, Kepner and Allie Mae.  He also leaves behind his loving caregivers, who provided him outstanding companionship and compassionate care over the last years of his life.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2020, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
