Julia Jo Bosler, 73, of Depauw, Indiana, died Monday, March 10, 2025, at Salem Crossing in Salem, Indiana. She was born May 29, 1951, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to the late George and Beaulah Withrow Rice. She was runner-up Opossum Queen of Carter County, Kentucky, and her passions were spending time with her family, woodworking, gardening and her “Epic” Halloween parties.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, James Jacobs; her brother, George Rice; and her sister, Charlotte Rice.
Survivors include her sons, Dusty Rhodes (Jennifer) of Depauw and Rob Rhodes (Jessica) of Corydon, Indiana; her daughter in law, Liana Shafer of New Salisbury, Indiana; her grandchildren, Blake Smith-Bohnert (Chelsey), Jenna Cecil (Drew), Maggie Jacobs, Addalynn Groover, Peyton Rhodes, Savana Rhodes, Parker Rhodes, Kodi Stepp, Deaven Stepp, Austyn Stepp and Hudson Rhodes; her great grandson, Logan Bohnert; her sisters, Brenda Shafer (Chuck) and Linda Newbern both of Depauw; her caregiver Karen Hulsey of Fredericksburg, Indiana; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in Blue River Church of Christ Cemetery near Depauw.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Peyton Rhodes, Parker Rhodes, Deaven Stepp, Kodi Stepp, Hudson Rhodes and Drew Cecil.
