Joyce Elaine Bliss

Joyce Elaine Bliss, 86, of Central, Indiana, died Saturday, April 11, 2026, at The Waters of Georgetown in Georgetown, Indiana.  She was born July 19, 1939, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Nelson and Pauline Bartley Watson.  She was a retired life insurance agent for the old Commonwealth/Monumental Life Insurance Company, was a member of the Corydon Presbyterian Church and the Laconia Homemakers Club, and was a former school board member for the South Harrison Community School Corporation.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Keith Watson; and her sister, Judith Bradshaw.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Eugene Bliss; her sons, Randy Bliss (Janice) and Denny Bliss; her daughters, Kim Briscoe (Jerry) and Susie Bliss-Norris (Earl); her grandchildren, Jessica Hamilton (Jeremy), Abagail Gordon (Nic), Katie Bliss (Heather), Wesly Briscoe (Dakota), Robert Briscoe (Krista), Elaine Weaver (Ralph) and Thomas Briscoe (Sara); and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Corydon.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Wesly Briscoe, Robert Briscoe, Thomas Briscoe, Ralph Weaver, Nic Gordon and Jeremy Hamilton.
