John Taylor "Johnny" Smith

John Taylor “Johnny” Smith, 59, of Mauckport, Indiana, died Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.  He was born September 14, 1962, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Alvin Leo and Jeanette Elvira Grant Smith.  He was formerly a heavy equipment operator at Kelley Construction in Louisville. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Bonnie Rumple and Elvira Adamson; and his brother in law, Roy Lillpop.

Survivors include his brother, Alvin L. “Sonny” Smith, Jr. (Joyce) of Louisville; his sisters, Catherine Lillpop of Louisville, Judy Shireman (Charlie) of Central, Indiana, Ellen Pfeffer (Fred) of Louisville, and Melissa P. Smith (Deen Ciarleglio) of Mauckport; his brothers in law, Charlie Adamson of Corydon and Robert “Bob” Rumple of Sellersburg, Indiana; many loving nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Pepper.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Ross Green will officiate.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church near Mauckport.
