John E. Saltsgaver, 92, of Corydon, died Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Indian Creek Healthcare Center in Corydon. He was born September 14, 1932, in Crawford County, Indiana, to the late Raymond and Esther Lahue Saltsgaver. He was a retired milk hauler and a member of the Teamsters Union Local #246 in Washington D.C. and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean war era.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Glenda Edwards Saltsgaver; and his brothers, Raymond Jr., Bobby and Jesse Saltsgaver.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Summers Saltsgaver; his sons, Bryan Saltsgaver of Arlington, Virginia, Scott Saltsgaver (Dabney) of Alexandria, Virginia, and Darrell Cox (Rebecca) of Brandenburg, Kentucky; his daughters, Deborah Lorenz of Knightdale, North Carolina and Pamela Herbaugh of Curby, Indiana; his brother, Thomas Joe Saltsgaver (Libby) of Ingalls, Indiana; his grandchildren, Justin Herbaugh (Gretchen), Davina Austin (Scott), Trevor Cox (Debbie), Leatus Reed, Kevin Cox (Judy), and Elizabeth Neighbors (Jared); 11 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in Thompson’s Chapel Cemetery near Depauw, Indiana.
