Jerome “J.M.” Mott, 71, of Depauw, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.  He was born December 5, 1953, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late John Merl Mott and Vivian June Lee Mott.  Jerome attended North Central School and later joined the Army National Guard.  He worked at Jeffboat in Jeffersonville, Indiana and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181.  He loved football, the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his companion, Starla Fullenwider; and his siblings, Shirley Ruble (Charles), Donna Sue Plunkett (Gary), Bill Mott, Bob Mott, George Mott and Vicki Engleman.

 

Survivors include his sister, Jennie Ann Wright (Dennis); his brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Engleman; his sister-in-law, Kathy Mott Goldman; and many loving nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Donnie Whitlow will officiate.  Burial will be in Hancock Chapel Cemetery near Depauw.

 

Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Craig Engleman, Dick Engleman, Josh Engleman, Eric Wright, John Mott and Mark Rosenbarger.
