Jann Orme, Sr.

Jann Orme, Sr., 87, of Corydon, died Sunday, August 30, 2020, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.  He was born January 14, 1933, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late James Melvin and Ethelda Rhoads Orme.  He was formerly employed as a quality control engineer at Hobarts in Louisville, was a delivery man at Sunshine Hatchery in Corydon, was a night manager at Frisch’s in Corydon, was a member of Heidelberg United Methodist Church near Corydon and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Larry and Dennis Orme.

Survivors include his wife, Leota M. Thomas Orme; his son, Melvin J. Orme, Jr. (Susan) of Corydon; his grandson, Jason A. Orme (Axandra Smith); his great grandchildren, Alyssa (Warren), Amelia, Alexander, Ava, Shiloh, Jaxon &  Zayden; his brothers, Donald Orme (Rowena) of Elizabeth, Indiana, Gary Orme (Diane) of Corydon and Randy Orme (Bonnie) of Central, Indiana; and his sisters, Bonnie Saulman of Corydon and Patty Swallows of New Salisbury, Indiana.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Elizabeth Lukemeier will officiate.  Burial will be in Heidelberg Cemetery near Corydon.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Heidelberg United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Jason Orme, Ricky Daily, Darrell Daily, Scotty Orme, Donn Rhoads, Jeff Orme and Jonathan Orme.
