Jane Marie Chism, 69, of Corydon, died Thursday, May 8, 2025, at her home in Corydon.  She was born August 22, 1955, in Corydon, to the late Walter Earl and Helen Victoria Day Chism.  She was retired from Lifespring after 40 years, was a member the V.F.W. Post 2950 Ladies Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Old Capitol Aerie #2794 Ladies Auxiliary both in Corydon, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon, where she was a Eucharistic Apostle of Divine Mercy, was a member of the Ageless Angels, was a hostess for Donut Sunday, and was on the OCIA team for several years.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Richard A. Chism, Robert A. Chism, John E. Chism, and Charles M. “Mike” Chism; her sister, Barbara A. Stults; and her niece, Heather White Kelley.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Vickie Marie Chism; her grandchildren, Taylor Renee Chism (Matthew Slater) and Walker Joseph Chism; her brothers, James D. "Jim" Chism and William J. "Willie" Chism; her sisters, Joyce K. Chism and Mary Rose Chism; 5 nieces and nephews; 8 great nieces and nephews; and her beloved friends, Mary and Dave Hall, and Irene Shields.

 

Her funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon.  Father Kyle Rodden will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Corydon.

 

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, and from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

 

There will be a Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00 p.m. and a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2025, at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Matthew Slater, Walker Chism, Matt Chism, Scott Sarles, Lane Stults, and Joe Schnellenberger.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church for Ageless Angels.
