James William Thomas Cockerell, 58, of Corydon, died Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at his home near Corydon. He was born October 11, 1961 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was employed in the shipping department at Tyson Foods in Corydon, was formerly employed as a security guard at the Marengo Cave Warehouse, was a U.S. Army veteran, and was a member of “I Love Jesus.”
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby B. Cockerell, Sr.; his mother and step father, Carolyn Ann White Deuser and Carl Deuser; his brother, John Lawrence Cockerell; and his sister, Ollie Catherine Riggs.
Survivors include his wife, Jayme Leigh Williams; his daughter, Elizabeth Bird; his step daughters, Samantha and Crystal Hedges; his brothers, Bobby Cockerell, Jr. and C.J. Cockerell; and 9 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery near Corydon.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, 12:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ralph and Jim Williams, Tanda Ems, Todd Rodgers, Brody Miller and Mitch Ross.
