James K. “Jim” Timberlake, 67, of Corydon, died Friday, April 7, 2023, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born December 13, 1955, in Corydon, to the late Gerald W. and Margie M. Matthews Timberlake. He was a tow truck driver for Downtown 76 and Charlie’s Towing for many years and was a member of the Corydon Church of Christ. Jim loved his grandkids, camping, telling jokes, competing in demolition derbies, racing at the Sportsdrome, and hanging out at Gun World.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James Keith Timberlake II; and his beloved dog, Si.
Survivors include his wife, Sherri L. Baker Timberlake; his sons, Daniel Wise (Jenny) and John Timberlake (Baylie) both of Corydon; his daughter, Jenna Walston (Brett) of Laconia, Indiana; his mother in law, Brenda Baker of Corydon; 6 grandchildren; and his new dog companion, Scooby.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Corydon Church of Christ. Marvin Purkhiser will officiate. Burial will be in Hyland Cemetery near Mauckport.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Wise, John Timberlake, Brett Walston, Jeremy Baker, Wyatt Dayvault, and Allen Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Eschbacher and Corky Swank.
