James Joseph Geary, Sr.

James Joseph Geary, Sr., 90, of Corydon, died Monday, June 29, 2026, at his home in Corydon, Indiana.  He was born December 26, 1935, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the late Florence (Jundernoa) and Phillip Geary, Sr. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon and the Cardinal Ritter Council #1221 of the Knights of Columbus where he was a member of the 4th Degree Father Badin Assembly #0244.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy (Mikesell) Geary; and his siblings, Phillip, Dorothy, and Mary Lorraine.

Survivors include his son, James J. Geary, Jr. (Challee); his daughters, Kathleen Geary, Susan Sanchez, Barbara Vergin, and Elizabeth Costello (Kevin); his grandchildren, Frost Belmont, Jonathon Vergin, Eva Belmont, Michael Vergin, Christopher Costello, and Allison Costello; and his 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
