James “Jim” Eldon Conrad, 79, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. He was a loving, devoted and supportive husband, dad, and pappy. Jim retired from Ford Motor Company after 34 years of service in 1999. His favorite pastime was spending time and laughing with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, listening to country music, doing yard work, and watching IU basketball. He also was a U.S. Army Reserves veteran.
He was born on June 15, 1943, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Willard and Pearl (Bussabarger) Conrad. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold and Irvin Conrad; and his brother in law, John D. Kingsley.
Jim is survived by his dear wife of 57 years, Phyllis (Kingsley) Conrad; his daughter, Tammy L. Evans (Bill) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; his son, James D. Conrad, Sr. of Jeffersonville; his grandchildren, Kayla Evans Hall (Jonathan), James D. Conrad, Jr., Kristen Evans Kidwell (Tyler), and Jennifer D. Conrad; his great granddaughters, Marlee, Kamryn, and Avianna Conrad; his brothers, John (Shirley), David (Sarah), and Kermit (Nancy) Conrad; numerous sisters in law, nieces and nephews; and his close friend, Bernie Beam (Wanda).
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2022, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Pastor Jeff Anders will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
