James E. “Jim” Miller, 91, of Corydon, died Thursday, May 12, 2022, at his home near Corydon. He was born July 21, 1930 in Corydon. Jim was retired from the United States Postal Service main office on Gardiner Lane in Louisville, was the former owner of Capital Texaco in Corydon, was a member of the V.F.W. Post #2950 in Corydon, and was a veteran of the Korean War having served in both the U.S. Army and U.S Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter “Red” Miller and Alice Carpenter Heishman; his wife, Judy McKim Miller; his brothers, Robert and Elmer Miller; and his sister, Mary Parker.
Survivors include his daughters, Angie Hawhee (Kerry), Lori Clark, and Jodi Windell (Jason) all of Corydon; his grandchildren, Chad Shireman (Emily), Megan White (Jacobb), Morgan Hawhee, Dawson Clark (Mary), Danielle Clark, and Jacob Windell (Natalie); and his great grandchildren, Hadleigh, Hunter and Hank White and Liam Clark.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Randy Kirk will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Hosparus Health of Southern Indiana.
Pallbearers will be Jacobb White, Dawson Clark, Chad Shireman, Jacob Windell, Josh DeWeese and Brandon McClanahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Megan White, Morgan Hawhee and Danielle Clark.
